The Ultimate Coffee Shop Playlist

Admit it. At some point in our lives, we were finding the perfect songs to listen when we are chilling in a coffee shop alone. It is either the coffee shop itself has some songs ready, or if they don’t, you can just simply bring out your earphones and start to chill. Emphasis on the alone part, there will always be the days when we need some alone time, and spending it chilling at a coffee shop, listening to the great playlist you have created, is the best thing to go for.

The list below will include some of the songs we love and we would love you to listen to:

Le Festin – Camille

Le Festin by Camille, soundtrack for Disney’s Ratatouille

First of all, this song will take you back to Paris, sitting outside a Parisian cafe, sipping a good cup of coffee while staring at the beautiful heights of the Eiffel Tower. This song does exactly that. It calms you down, while it gives you the enjoyment of just sitting down and loving the view of France.

The dreams of lovers are like good wine
They bring joy or also sorrow
Weakened by hunger I am unhappy
Flying on the street all that I can
Because nothing is for free in life

Hope is a plate far too quickly consumed
I am used to skipping the meal
A solitary thief is sad to eat
In a game so bitter I can’t succeed
Because nothing is for free in…

– Camille, “Le Festin”, English excerpt

How – Regina Spektor

How by Regina Spektor from the album “What we Saw from the Cheap Seats”

This album by Russian-American singer is a 10/10 and I would recommend everyone to listen to ALL of the songs here. And “How” is my favorite song here. Why? The lyrics speaks to me in so many levels (I don’t know, because I can relate to this so much). And Regina’s singing gave me the chills, and made me wanna sip more coffee.

How can I forget your love?
How can I never see you again?
There’s a time and place
For one more sweet embrace
And is time, ooh
when it all, ooh
Went wrong
I guess you know by now
That we will meet again somehow

– Regina Spektor, “How”

Where I Stand – Mia Wray

Where I Stand by Mia Wray, soundtrack for Midnight Sun

Major feels for this song! I can’t even explain the feelings this song has for me. And to tell you, the first time I heard this song, I was with a friend at a coffee shop. Good thing, my friend knew the song and told me right away. When I reached home, I immediately searched for this song more and found Midnight Sun (the movie). And damn, this movie was at par with the song, both gave me real feels.

I have seen a thousand things
A thousand minds and what they bring
To this world and to this home
But where I stand, well, I don’t know

– Mia Wray, “Where I Stand”

Love Song – Sara Bareilles

Love Song by Sara Bareilles

Don’t get me started with the legend Sara B. I have been a fan of her since 2010, and her songs helped me cope up through high school. I have all of her albums, and if ever she will be here in my country, I will definitely buy a ticket, whatever the cost will be. That is how much I love her. (Oh, and I will be making another playlist solely for Sara B. songs only.

I have a Spotify playlist of all Sara Bareilles songs, and I also listen to them when I study, travel, clean the house, or even while I show.

P.S. If you need some piano-jazz or acoustic songs on a loop, you can never go wrong with her songs.

I’m not gonna write you a love song
’cause you asked for it
’cause you need one, you see
I’m not gonna write you a love song
’cause you tell me it’s
Make or breaking this
If you’re on your way
I’m not gonna write you to stay
If all you have is leaving, I’m gonna need a better reason to write you a love song today

– Sara Bareilles, “Long Song”

The Way I Am – Ingrid Michaelson

The Way I Am by Ingrid Michaelson

Last, and not the least, this song. If you want a simple, cheeky, and an easy to listen song, this song is for you. I noticed that Michaelson’s songs are often played at coffee shops I’ve been at. I really love the simplicity of this song, the lyrics is straightforward and honest.

If you were falling, then I would catch you
You need a light, I’d find a match
‘Cause I love the way you say good morning
And you take me the way I am

– Ingrid Michaelson, “The Way I Am”

So whenever you drop by a coffee shop and you need some songs to get by, please do consider listening to these ones, and thank me later. (Just kidding, just enjoy the songs.)

If you need more posts like this, let me know so that I can make more!

Love lots! 🙂 – SQ
